Appointments

Consultations are made by appointment. Appointments are made at fifteen-minute intervals, so you will usually spend 10-15 minutes with your doctor. We request that you book a longer appointment for:

  • multiple problems
  • cervical screening (formerly known as pap smear)
  • commercial driving assessments
  • first share-care/pregnancy visit
  • insurance medicals
  • insertion/removal of Implanon
  • counselling

New Patients

New patients looking for a regular GP are welcome.  Please note not all of our GPs are taking on new patients.  We also see new patients for specific services; Mirena and implant insertion, Iron infusion and Ear Suction.

Cancellations

We would appreciate you telling us as soon as possible if you think you may be late or need to cancel your appointment. Sometimes your appointment may need to be rescheduled if you are late.

A cancellation fee may apply for not attendance at appointments without sufficient prior notice (normally 4 hours).

Chandlers Hill Surgery is committed to providing you and your family with personalised, professional, quality healthcare across a wide range of medical and support services.

Reminder System

Appointments reminder system – an SMS reminder of your appointment can be sent the day prior. Please ask reception if you would like this service.

We also have recall and reminder systems in place for other services such as care plans, diabetes and lung function tests. If you would like to receive this electronically please complete a consent form.

Schedule

Patients are not always seen in the order of their arrival at the surgery, but in order of their booking time. You may wish to ring the surgery before your appointment to check whether your doctor is running on time.

Emergencies are dealt with as they arrive and this may also affect your waiting time.
