Repeat or lost prescriptions
Prescriptions and Referrals
Our preference is that you make an appointment for repeat prescriptions. Under some circumstances we can offer you a “script clinic appointment”.
These are generally available at the beginning or end of the day but times may vary depending on doctor availability. They are booked at 5 minute intervals. These appointments are only for some types of continuing regular medication which does not require ongoing review or for “lost scripts”. If you are starting new medication, require pain medication, or if ongoing assessment of your condition is required (eg hypertension, diabetes, hormone replacement therapy) then it is NOT appropriate to book a script clinic appointment. A gap of $16.00 will apply for these appointments. For children and concession card holders script clinic appointments will be bulk billed.
These appointments can be via phone or face to face.
For ongoing repeat prescriptions a limited supply of your medication may be provided without an appointment. This can be booked online or by phoning the surgery. A fee of $21.00 applies. There is no Medicare rebate. Please allow 48 hours for these prescriptions, as it requires doctor assessment and for scripts to be faxed to the pharmacist or for collection. eScripts will be sent to your phone where appropriate.
Referral letters
We request that an appointment be made with your doctor for any referral letters. This can be done via telephone/video or face to face.
For regular repeat simple referrals that are urgent, a referral can be written without a doctor appointment. A $21.00 fee will apply.
