Consultations are made by appointment. Appointments are made at fifteen-minute intervals, so you will usually spend 10-15 minutes with your doctor. We request that you book a longer appointment for:

Home visits

Home visits are available to patients who live in the local area and who are too sick to come to the surgery. We appreciate requests for home visits being made as early in the day as possible so we can accommodate these. Depending on the circumstances, a gap of $50 may apply for emergency home visits. Lower gaps for palliative care may apply - please discuss this with your doctor.

We would appreciate you telling us as soon as possible if you think you may be late or need to cancel your appointment. Sometimes your appointment may need to be rescheduled if you are late.

A cancellation fee may apply for not attendance at appointments without sufficient prior notice (normally 4 hours).

After hours appointments

When we are closed our phone lines automatically divert to National Home Doctor service where you can arrange a home visit if needed. They can be contacted on 13 74 25.

The phone lines at Chandlers Hill surgery open at 8.30am Monday – Saturday.

Patients are not always seen in the order of their arrival at the surgery, but in order of their booking time. You may wish to ring the surgery before your appointment to check whether your doctor is running on time.

Emergencies are dealt with as they arrive and this may also affect your waiting time.
